Hi, I'm Sandra Smith, Product Manager for Wexxar BEL, powered by Pro Mach. Today, we're looking at our 505 G3 semi-automatic case former. The 505 series machines are designed to allow an operator to quickly open a flat case, push it down, and have the bottom formed for easy hand loading. Unlike other machines, there are no dead plates; instead, you are packing directly into your own case, making it very easy for the operator to transfer the case to the case sealer.
The machine operates by having the box itself engage three safety switches: two bottom switches and one body switch. These switches trigger the machine to form the box. As you can see, this design supports direct forming and loading, providing seamless product support. Once the case is formed, it can be easily transferred to the sealer.
The 505 G3 requires two size change adjustments: width and length. The width adjustment crank is accessible from either side of the machine, depending on the operator's position. The length adjustment is internal, and the operator can simply move the handle to set the case length using the reader switch on the scale.
Our third-generation 505 G3 features an open frame design, which offers a smaller overall footprint. This design allows operators to work from all three sides of the machine, providing flexibility in loading from the front, rear, or side.
The Bel 505 G3 is a modular system and can be paired with our semi-automatic Bel 150 sealer or with our fully automatic Bel 250, 252, or Bel 270 for hot melt applications. One useful option for the Bel 505 is the caster option, which makes the system mobile and easy to move around. Additionally, I always recommend our box stand, which allows you to place the box supply wherever the operator needs it, minimizing motions and making it easy to access and form the boxes.
